The companies behind a landmark four-star hotel that was recently put up for sale have entered administration.
Both Waterfront Southport Properties Ltd and Waterfront Hotels (Southport) Ltd have appointed Paul Davies and Sandra Mundy of advisory firm James Cowper Kreston to manage the process, according to notices filed with The Gazette.
The businesses are behind Bliss Hotel in Southport which was put on the market at the end of September. BusinessLive has been told that the hotel remains open.

The four-star hotel is located on Southport’s waterfront next to the proposed Marine Lakes Events Centre.
It includes 131 bedrooms and penthouses, a lounge bar, restaurant, roof garden, gym, conferencing and events space, as well as secure underground car parking for 120 cars.
The sale came after the operational real estate team at CBRE in Manchester was appointed by Waterfront Southport Properties Ltd to advise on the future of the Bliss Hotel and adjoining major development opportunity on the Waterfront.
CBRE was instructed to explore options for the hotel and development scheme.
Paul Davies of James Cowper Kreston said: "We are continuing to trade the business as usual whilst we look for a buyer for the business as a going concern.
"At this time we have no plans to make any changes to the team structure and we will be honouring all function bookings."
The hotel underwent a £15m refurbishment programme in 2019, as reported by LancsLive.
Speaking at the end of September, Shaun Skidmore, senior director at CBRE Manchester, said: "We are delighted to work with Waterfront Southport Properties to market the recently upscaled luxury boutique hotel, which is in a prime position to the progressing events centre and exciting waterfront development.
"The area is primed to attract a host of economic benefits thanks to this highly significant, multi-million pound regeneration scheme."
The asking price for the hotel was not been disclosed.
CBRE has been contacted for comment.
