Peterborough could soon be awarded the less than flattering title of worst place to live England for the fourth time in five years.
The commuter town in Cambridgeshire picked up the 'accolade' three years in a row, but slipped down to fourth worst place last year when Aylesbury earned the top spot.
The list is compiled each year following a public vote on I Live Here and so far this year the results show Peterborough has the most votes so far.
This year, the voting - which remains open here - shows the commuter town is on track to win once again, MyLondon reports.
Peterborough is just 50 minutes away from London by train. The city boasts a Norman cathedral, a Bronze Age site at Flag Fen, the stunning Burghley House, and the Peterborough Sculpture Trail.
There's also plenty of green space, including the Ferry Meadows Country Park, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs, and theatres to enjoy.
But residents who voted on I Live Here in last year's poll said this about the town: "One thing to bear in mind, if booking a weekend getaway in Peterborough, it is customary if a stranger holds eye contact with you for more than three seconds, to shout “WHAT”??? and become extremely aggressive."
Another said: "I lived in Peterborough for 15 years and all I can say is wow. what a f*****g DUMP." A third added: "The atmosphere in Peterborough is draining.
"You feel totally isolated from the rest of the world and life in general, as though everything else is going on and you're not part of it as you're stuck in this dump."
Someone else went a step further and advocated wiping it off the map entirely: "Peterborough should have been destroyed during WW2 but even Hitler and Goering didn't think it was worth bothering with."
You can add your own town to the list if it isn't there already, until midnight on December 31. Voting for the best and worst places to live ends on January 31.
