New homeowners in Keyworth say the new estate is full of 'community spirit'.
Miller Homes began building a development of 187 homes in Keyworth in November 2019.
Since then some homes on the site have been completed and homeowners have moved in.
The site is named Spinners Croft, in Platt Lane, where developers Miller Homes are building homes with two, three, four and five bedrooms and selection of bungalows.
The first few residents that moved on the site told Nottinghamshire Live that they have a community spirit where the neighbours are nice and the properties are good.
Stewart Whitehead, moved from Ruddington and was the second resident to move onto the site.
Mr Whitehead said: “It’s been very good - I’m very pleased.
“We have a nice site here.
“It’s gone well. There have been usual hiccups but they sort it out eventually.
“The neighbours here are very good - we get on with them really well.
“We do things for each other like bringing the bins in and taking deliveries for people - they’re really good.
“The property is good, it’s a nice little community."
Mr Whitehead added that he hopes that more facilities will be added to the area to accommodate the new homes.
He said: “Keyworth is nice and the shops are good but it’s going to get busier when all these houses are built.
“We aren’t the only estate that's being built.
“It will get worse but hopefully they will build for extra parking, more facilities coming and doctors.”
Rex Coleman, 67, moved into his property in August 2020 and was the third homeowner to move onto the Keyworth development.
“It’s been really good,” Mr Coleman said.
“The neighbours are really good - it seems there is a pretty good community spirit amongst the people in this first section of the development.
“We are enjoying it - it’s all positive.
“The house is good, it’s a new house with the normal snagging issues which Miller Homes have dealt with.
“Certainly Miller Homes were really good with the whole move when we first moved in.
“Keyworth is a lovely village. We've been in Keyworth for a while.
“Keyworth to me was always a large village - I think the expansion is positive.”
Stewart Rayton, 73, retired, told Nottinghamshire Live that he moved to the site from Leeds to be closer to his son, daughter and three granddaughters.
Mr Rayton said: “It’s the first time we’ve ever been in a new property.
“It wasn’t easy with covid because we were one of the first ones in.
“We’ve had snagging issues with the bungalow but they’ve all been dealt with very quickly and are fine now.
“It’s just getting to know new people.
“We’ve got a lot less space than we ever had - that was the biggest problem coming to terms with the limited space we’ve got - luckily we now get on with it.”
