Applications are invited continually throughout the year and the main aims of the community grants scheme are to fund activities and projects which bring community benefit and to involve people in the community by bringing them together to enjoy educational, recreational, leisure and other community activities or to improve the local environment.

Support can be provided from the fund for a range of activities including administration and publicity costs, purchase of equipment and materials, annual outings and entrance fees, start-up costs and special events.

The total allocation for community grants for the East Kilbride Area Committee area in 2022/2023 was 25,750. The amount awarded this week, including play scheme grants, equated to £3165 leaving £19,785 remaining for the remainder of the year.
