The Washington Commanders returned to the practice field Wednesday after a week off, and there was some positive injury news. No one on Washington’s injury report for Wednesday missed practice.
10 players were listed as limited on Wednesday:
- RB Antonio Gibson [foot]
- WR Dax Milne [foot]
- G Andrew Norwell [shoulder]
- RB Brian Robinson Jr. [quad]
- WR Cam Sims [back]
- DE James Smith-Williams [concussion]
- CB Benjamin St-Juste [ankle]
- DE Montez Sweat [concussion]
- G Trai Turner [knee]
- DE Chase Young [knee]
Linebacker Jamin Davis [thumb] and offensive tackle Sam Cosmi [ankle] participated fully.
While the Commanders would prefer not to have so many players on the injury report, it was encouraging that everyone was at least limited on the first day of practice. Cosmi, who left the Week 13 game with an injury, practiced fully. That’s good news for an offensive line battling numerous injuries.
Defensive ends Sweat and Smith-Williams are each battling concussions. We should know more about their status by Friday. There is optimism that Young makes his season debut Sunday, although on a limited snap count.
More good news is that cornerback Benjamin St-Juste was back on the field, even though he was limited. St-Juste missed the last two games.
The Giants also have a laundry list of injuries; here’s a look at their injury report from Wednesday.
