The Washington Commanders finally addressed the offensive line with their third selection — No. 97 overall — in the 2023 NFL draft, selecting Arkansas center Ricky Stromberg.
The 6-foot-3, 306-pound Stromberg was a four-year starter for the Razorbacks, beginning his career at guard before moving to center in 2020. He finished his career as a first-team All-SEC selection and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the league’s top offensive lineman in 2022.
Washington brought Stromberg in for a visit, meaning each of Washington’s first three picks all visited Ashburn ahead of the draft.
Stromberg is likely projected as a center for the Commanders but can also play guard.
Washington is back on the clock at No. 118 overall when the fourth round opens Saturday.
The Commanders ended Friday with cornerback Emmanuel Forbes, defensive Jartavius “Quan” Martin and Stromberg.
