Commanders QB Jayden Daniels wins AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year

No surprise, but Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is your NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Daniels accepted the award at Thursday’s NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans.

Here is Daniels accepting the award.

It was the second Rookie of the Year award of the day for Daniels. Daniels was named the Pepsi Zero Sugar Offensive Rookie of the Year earlier on Thursday. Daniels won the Rookie of the Week honors 11 times in 2024, shattering Ben Roethlisberger’s record of nine wins set in 2004.

Daniels led the Commanders to their greatest season since 1991, going 12-5 in the regular season, winning two road playoff games, and took Washington to the NFC championship game. He completed 69% of his passes with 3,568 yards, 25 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 891 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Daniels also led all NFL players in jersey sales. His impact in helping turn around a previously moribund franchise was just as impressive as what he accomplished on the field.

For the first time in many years, the Washington Commanders have a quarterback and enter the offseason as a destination rather than an afterthought.

Congratulations to Jayden Daniels.
