Commanders LT Charles Leno Jr. loved beating the Packers

Remember when Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers had some choice words for the Chicago Bears after he scored a touchdown in the 2021 season?

I’ve owned you all my f—–g life. I own you. I still own you. I still own you,” Rodgers shouted after the score.

Rodgers is correct. He has owned the Bears. However, on Sunday, he was in Washington to play the Commanders, who were coming off a win over the Bears in Week 6.

Rodgers flashed some of his magic late in the game but mostly struggled in Green Bay’s 23-21 loss to the Commanders. This was especially sweet for Commanders left tackle Charles Leno Jr.

Leno spent seven seasons in Chicago, so he knows a thing or two about Rodgers owning the Bears. So anytime he can beat the legendary quarterback, it’s a special day for him.

“I’ve beat the Packers like three times in my career now,” Leno said. “I played in Chicago for seven years and that No. 12 beat me a lot.

A reporter then asked Leno, so this is a win for you?

This is a win for me,” Leno said. “Back-to-back, I beat the Packers and the Bears two weeks in a row; oh, I am a happy man.”

Throughout much of this, Leno was smiling, and he went on to describe how Washington’s win over Green Bay was a total team effort.

Now, the Commanders must head back on the road as they face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8.
