Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is a ton of fun to watch on Sunday’s. He took the league by storm this year, turning the heads of everyone and making other teams cringe to see the Commanders on their schedule.
He broke a 20-year record for the number of Pepsi Rookie of the Week awards he won with 11, the previous record was held by Ben Roethlisberger who won the award nine times in 2004. So, it should come as no surprise that Daniels was officially nominated by the NFL for the 2024 Pepsi Rookie of the Year.

Over the course of the 2024 season, Daniels threw 331 passes for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was sacked 47 times but only threw nine interceptions all season. Using his legs, Daniels rushed 148 times for 891 yards and six touchdowns, fumbling three times. There were many times Daniels put the Commanders on his back and willed his team to win, which is why he’s the leading rusher as well as the quarterback.
Besides Daniels there are five other nominees: Malik Nabers (WR, New York Giants), Bo Nix (QB, Denver Broncos), Brock Bowers (TE, Las Vegas Raiders), Brian Thomas Jr. (WR, Jacksonville Jaguars), and Bucky Irving (RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
