The Washington Commanders badly need help on the offensive line. Fortunately for Washington, it has plenty of picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Washington needs help almost everywhere on the offensive line, specifically at offensive tackle.
During this week’s Senior Bowl practices, we’ve learned how deep this offensive line class is for 2024. We knew of the names coming in, like Olu Fashanu and Joe Alt, but they weren’t eligible for the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Al.
That created opportunities for others to show they belonged in the first round. Players such as Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State) and Jackson Powers-Johnson (Oregon) almost look like first-round locks after a strong week of practice in front of NFL scouts.
Another offensive lineman who had a strong week of practice was Houston’s Patrick Paul. Does that last name sound familiar? The 6-foot-7, 333-pounder was a four-year college starter and is the younger brother of Commanders guard Chris Paul.
The younger Paul has enjoyed an outstanding week of practice in Mobile.
His big brother has been with him every step of the way. Interestingly, Chris Paul was watching practice with someone who may have asked him for a scouting report: new Washington GM Adam Peters.

The Commanders will likely draft at least one offensive tackle in the 2024 NFL draft, and Paul could be a target with one of their second-round picks.
