It looks like Washington Commanders cornerback William Jackson III will get his wish. Last month, Washington benched Jackson, who then reportedly requested a trade. Jackson later denied he requested a trade.

As the NFL nears Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET trade deadline, it appears Jackson is on the move,

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Washington is engaged with the Pittsburgh Steelers regarding a possible trade for Jackson. The deal isn’t done as the two teams are working out contract language. Jackson is in the second year of a three-year, $40.3 million contract.

Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network adds that the teams will swap late-round draft picks in the move.

Jackson hasn’t played since the Commanders benched him. He claimed he left the game due to a back injury. Head coach Ron Rivera did confirm Jackson was dealing with a back issue but has otherwise said very little about Jackson.

If Washington can finalize a deal with the Steelers for Jackson, it would be a win. Many believed the Commanders would’ve released Jackson if they couldn’t agree to a trade.
