Commanders exciting, difficult 2023 home schedule now official

The Washington Commanders 2023 home schedule is now official, and it promises to be an exciting one as big-name all stars come to FedEx Field.

One of the biggest questions, of course, will be how many fans will return now that Daniel Snyder is most likely not to be the owner by the time the 2023 season launches.

The home schedule features the three NFC East divisional rivals (Eagles, Cowboys, Giants), the 49ers, Bears, Dolphins, Bills and Cardinals.

Keep in mind the NFC will be playing eight home games and the AFC nine home games in the 2023 schedule.

Here is the complete schedule in a tweet, listing the home games in burgundy and the road games in gold.

Week 1 vs. Arizona Cardinals: Sept. 10, 1 p.m.

Colt McCoy will most likely be behind center for the Cardinals in a return to FedEx Field for the former Washington quarterback. Kyler Murray will still be recovering from his knee surgery.

Week 3 vs. Buffalo Bills: Sept. 24, 1 p.m.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen

Josh Allen is perhaps the best dual-threat NFL quarterback, and he will lead the Bills into FedEx in a Week 3 showdown.

Week 5: vs. Chicago Bears: Oct. 5, 8:15 p.m.

Justin Fields displayed his explosiveness against the Commanders in a 2022 game in Chicago. The two teams meet again on Thursday Night game in consecutive years.

Week 8 vs. Philadelphia Eagles: Oct. 29, 1 p.m.

Jalen Hurts led the Eagles to the NFC Championship and a close-game loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Now Hurts will come to FedEx with a big contract and loads of confidence as the Eagles are loaded.

Week 11 vs. New York Giants: Nov. 19, 1 p.m.

The Commanders did not win either game against the Giants in 2022 and, as a result, finished in last place in the NFC East. This will be a must-win in 2023.

Week 13 vs. Miami Dolphins: Dec. 3, 1 p.m.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill

Speedy wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle will be a huge test for the Commanders secondary.

Week 17 vs. San Francisco 49ers: Dec. 31, 1 p.m.

Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey are perhaps the most dynamic multi-purpose players on an NFL offense. They bring all sorts of difficulties and challenges to an NFL defense.

Week 18 vs. Dallas Cowboys: TBD

For the second consecutive season the Commanders will conclude their regular season with a home match up against the hated Dallas Cowboys. Micah Parsons has been a dominant force on the Cowboys’ defense both of his NFL seasons.
