Commanders defensive end Chase Young is back

Almost one year removed from tearing his ACL, Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young is back on the practice field.

The Commanders activated Young from the reserve/physically unable to perform list and now have 21 days to either activate Young or place him on season-ending injured reserve.

Young met with the media after practice and said he “felt real good.”

Now, Young joins a defensive line that’s playing as well as it ever has under this regime. Defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne and defensive end Montez Sweat are playing at a high level and adding Young to the mix is an exciting proposition for a team that has won three consecutive games.

Young is eligible to play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, but when he was asked if he’d be on the field, he laughed and said, “Nah, I ain’t going to go into it,” Young said. “I ain’t going to go into that one; all I know is I am sticking to my plan. I felt good today.”

Young’s return to the field would give Washington fans something to be excited about after the news broke earlier Wednesday that owner Dan Snyder was working with Bank of America on a potential team sale.
