The internet today shapes the way we live and the way we work. Which is why it’s more important than ever to make the digital ecosystem accessible and disabled-friendly.
Yet while many websites and apps are increasingly using assistive technology to improve accessibility, news websites in India seem to have little or no impetus to do so. And, in the process, they exclude a large section of the population from accessing information.
Here at Newslaundry, we want to change that.
Over the last six months, we’ve been working to integrate assistive technology with our website and app. It’s set to launch in November.
Here’s a quick preview of all the changes coming your way.
For any suggestions, and to sign up as a beta tester for the product, write to chitranshu@newslaundry.com. If you’re a person with a disability and rely on assistive technology to access the internet, we would love to hear from you and beta-test the product.
