Actor Daisy May Cooper, best known for her roles in This Country and Am I Being Unreasonable, is reportedly in talks to play M in the next Bond film.
The Sun says Cooper could be the next actor to take on the role of the head of MI5, currently held by Ralph Fiennes and previously played by Dame Judi Dench.
Cooper is a close friend of comedy actor and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who is a script consultant on the Bond franchise.
A source said: “Daisy is a close pal of Phoebe, whose involvement in Bond was such a success that it sparked an unlikely conversation.
“Suddenly the production team were getting excited about the prospect of really taking ‘M’ in a different direction."
The next Bond will also feature a new actor in the lead role after the departure of Daniel Craig.
