Comedian Susie McCabe's Glasgow heatwave 'warning' leaves fans in stitches

We've all heard about the UK heatwave this week, with weather forecasters down south issuing an amber warning for parts of England.

According to the Met Office, "exceptional heat" is possible for southern and central areas of the UK as we begin to approach next week. Not only that, but Glasgow is soon set for highs of 26C on Monday - and we can hear you thinking 'taps aff weather'.

However, whilst Scotland may not have an amber warning, we did get one warning - and this time from a comedian who has perfectly summed up our feelings about the weather.

Taking to Twitter to upload a video of herself, comedian Susie McCabe showed the rest of the UK the 'heatwave' they're missing out on. And it's the true definition of a 'Scottish Summer' if we've ever seen one.

In her video, she said: "Currently a heatwave gripping the country right now. 32C in some places.

"Heatwave warning getting extended from Sunday into Monday. Keep the elderly safe, keep the young safe. Wear factor 50, always have water especially on public transport."

Walking up Hutcheson Street, she panned around the camera to show the streets of the city centre and added: "If you canny do any of that, there's always Glasgow" as the rain poured down.

The comedian, who has earned praise from Kevin Bridges, is one of the fastest selling acts at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. She also has multiple Scottish comedy awards under her belt, including Best Headliner and Best Show.

So, it seems people are not only left in stitches after her shows, but her social media posts too, with many flooding to her comments. And of course, many being bitter about the soaring temperatures south of the border.

In response to the Scottish 'heatwave warning' video, thousand of people have shared, liked and commented on the tweet. And in the comments, one said: "Cannae beat Scottish humour. Brilliant."

Another added: "There's always Glasgow needs to be on t-shirts!"

"Raincoats at the ready for weekend lads," wrote a third.
