The Dubliner was waiting at the lights on Thomas Street when a man approached him and tried to yank his bike from under him. David managed to fight him off but was left with "no knee in one trouser".

He said on Twitter: "A man just tried to steal my bike by yanking it out from under me as I waited at the lights on Thomas Street."
