The Australian embassy presents "Australian Comics – Promoting Culture Through Visual Story Telling", a brand-new exhibition showcasing the best and most original comic art from Down Under, at the Gallery, 3rd floor of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, until March 27.

This is the first time local audiences can see artwork from 33 outstanding Australian comic book artists and discover how Australian comics interact with culture and literature.

The unique exhibition plays an invaluable role in promoting Australian arts and culture and reaching the younger generations around the world to incite a creative dialogue between nations.

It features the diversity and multiculturalism of Australian identity as portrayed by exceptionally talented artists who focus on different themes and use various forms of expression. Also on display are artworks inspired and created by cartoonists from the Aboriginal community.

The exhibition was well-received when it premiered as part of the "International Festival Of Comics And Games" in Poland in 2018. Then it went to Germany where it enriched the Australian embassy's gallery in Berlin in early 2020 -- just before the worldwide lockdown.

The ongoing show in Bangkok is said to be the biggest yet, presenting the artists' boards, a brief history of Australian comics, large printed stands with cartoon characters and augmented reality artworks as well as cabinets with graphic novels by the featured creators.
