Can the Indianapolis Colts replicate last week’s success and get into the win column against the Pittsburgh Steelers?
Doing so won’t be an easy task by any means. This is a very stingy Steelers defense that has been one of the best against the run. While on offense, Pittsburgh is as committed to the run game as you will see.
Matchup-wise, on both sides of the ball, this will be a good early-season test for the Colts.
Let’s take a look at who the experts have winning this Week 4 matchup:
ESPN
Of the three members of ESPN’s staff making these predictions, two of them chose the Colts in this one. The Football Power Index projection model has the Steelers with a 53.1 percent chance of winning.
Pro Football Network
Brian Blewis picked the Colts to win this game. His decision to do so came down to the Steelers being without Alex Highsmith at edge rusher and the play of the Colts’ offensive line through three weeks.
Pro Football Talk
Both Mike Florio and Chis Simms are taking the Steelers in this one. Florio wrote that the Steelers have balance on both sides of the ball, something the Colts do not have at this time.
Bleacher Report
Of the eight members of Bleacher Report’s staff that made predictions, five chose the Steelers and three picked the Colts. Ultimately, for those who picked the Steelers, the decision came down to their defense playing at a high level and the ups and downs that the Colts’ offense is experiencing through three games.
NFL.com
A clean sweep with all five staff members taking the Steelers in this one. Ali Bhanpuri says this decision centers around the Steelers willingness to run the ball and the issues the Colts have had defending the run this season. This will then allow Pittsburgh to control the clock and play their brand of football, which has been successful this season.
