Colts vs Jaguars Week 18 prediction roundup: Who wins and why?

The Indianapolis Colts will wrap up their 2024 season at home, taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 18.

Unfortunately, following last week’s devastating loss to the Giants, the Colts won’t be playing for anything in this one, now having been eliminated from playoff contention.

Naturally, given that it’s been another disappointing season for the Colts, many are eyeing what’s next for this team, specifically what the offseason holds and if there will be any changes to the front office or coaching staff made.

While all of that will be sorted out in the not-so-distant future, there is still one more game to be played before that takes place. So, who are the experts picking in this game between the 7-9 Colts and the 4-12 Jaguars?

ESPN

Two of ESPN’s analysts are picking the Colts to win this game and one is taking the Jaguars to win by a touchdown. According to ESPN’s FPI model, the Colts have a 58.5% chance of winning this game and do so by an average of 3.3 points.

Pro Football Talk

Mike Florio is picking the Colts to win pretty easily by a score of 23-10. Chris Simms is also picking the Colts, but in a much closer game with Indianapolis winning 23-20.

Bleacher Report

Nearly a clean sweep with seven of the eight staff members taking the Colts to win this one. Brent Sobleski picked the Colts to win, expecting Indianapolis to “show some pride” after last week’s performance.

NFL.com

Four of the five from this crew selected the Colts as well. Tom Blair said he almost picked the Jaguars, but ultimately went with the Colts because of Jonathan Taylor’s impact in this game.

CBS Sports

Pete Prisco is taking the Colts to win by 13 points. His reasoning? Well, as Prisco put it, when two bad teams play, take the home team.

Sports Illustrated

For the Monday Morning Quarterback team, it’s a near split, with four picking the Colts and two others taking the Jaguars to win.
