The Indianapolis Colts signed second-round wide receiver Alec Pierce to a four-year rookie contract, the team announced Monday.
Pierce is the fifth of eight selections in the 2022 NFL draft to sign his rookie deal. The Colts signed all four of their Day 3 picks on Friday before the start of rookie minicamp, followed by third-round safety Nick Cross.
Pierce is expected to compete for the starting wide receiver role opposite Michael Pittman Jr. in the offense. His size, speed and athleticism were on display during the rookie minicamp this weekend.
With Pierce under contract now, the Colts only have to sign tight end Jelani Woods and offensive tackle Bernhard Raimann to their rookie contracts.
