Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly is dealing with a foot injury and was held out of Wednesday’s joint training camp practice with the Chicago Bears.
The injury bug has not been all that kind to the Colts since the start of training camp as several starters and impact players have dealt with ailments over the better part of the last month.
Head coach Shane Steichen told the media following Wednesday’s practice that Kelly is dealing with a foot injury, but he didn’t give any semblance of a timeline for his return.
The Colts offensive line is a major storyline for the Colts, and Kelly is entering a prove-it year. After struggling in pass protection over the last two seasons, Kelly needs to show he’s capable of bouncing back to the level he’s shown in the past.
During Wednesday’s joint practice with the Bears, Kelly was replaced by Danny Pinter.
Hopefully, Kelly won’t be out long, but this situation certainly bears monitoring.
