The Colts announced that Jonathan Taylor will miss Thursday night’s game against the Broncos. The star running back is dealing with an ankle injury.
Taylor suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss against the Titans and told reporters there was a chance he could play earlier in the week despite the short turnaround. But it appears he’s still not ready to return to the field.
“I definitely do plan on to play, but if you can’t go, you can’t go,” Taylor told media members Tuesday. “So that’s why you gotta get as much treatment as you can.”
Taylor led the league in rushing last season and is the centerpiece of the Indianapolis offense. He has struggled to return to his 2021 dominance, however. In his four games so far this season, he has rushed for 321 yards and one touchdown as the Colts have continued to struggle.
Indianapolis sits at 1-2-1 in the AFC south and kickoff in Denver is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime.
