The Indianapolis Colts ruled out three players Friday ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Head coach Shane Steichen met with the media Friday, ruling out linebacker Shaquille Leonard (groin), defensive end Kwity Paye (concussion) and Bernhard Raimann (concussion).
Buy Colts TicketsLeonard had been battling a groin injury he picked up during the Week 4 loss against the Los Angeles Rams. He didn’t practice all week and will be replaced by E.J. Speed on Sunday.
Both Paye and Raimann failed to clear the concussion protocol in time, but it does appear they’re heading in the right direction. They both were wearing the red non-contact jerseys during Friday’s practice, which is one of the first steps toward clearing the protocol.
They still need to log a full practice with contact and then get cleared by the independent neurologist, but there’s a good chance that happens in Week 6.
This will be Raimann’s second consecutive missed game due to the concussion while this will be Paye’s first.
In other injury news, center Ryan Kelly will make his return after missing 2.5 games due to a concussion.
The Colts will release their final Week 5 injury report with designations later Friday.
