The Indianapolis Colts reportedly worked out five defensive backs on Monday, according to the Indy Star’s Joel Erickson.
This group included safety Tracy Walker, along with cornerbacks Cornell Armstrong, AJ Parker, Tre Herndon, and Chandon Sullivan.

Workouts on Tuesdays–a typical off day for most teams–are a common weekly occurrence for both the Colts and the rest of the NFL. Perhaps someone stands out, and the Colts decide to make a practice squad addition.
But these workouts also allow teams to build out an emergency big board if an injury does strike later in the season, or if GM Chris Ballard believes an upgrade is needed on the back end of the roster.
Both the cornerback and safety position groups were big question marks for the Colts entering the 2024 season, and injuries, particularly at cornerback, have put the depth of those units to the test already.
During Sunday’s win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with JuJu Brents on injured reserve, the Colts were also without Kenny Moore, who was dealing with a hip injury he suffered against the Chicago Bears.
With Sam Womack primarily on the boundary opposite of Jaylon Jones and Chris Lammons in the slot, the secondary made enough plays to help secure the win.
However, the depth at cornerback remains a big unknown. Currently on the 53-man roster at that position are Jones, Womack, Lammons, Moore, and Dallis Flowers, who played 14 snaps on Sunday.
On the practice squad are Gregory Junior, Jaylin Simpson, and David Long, who was elevated and active for Sunday’s game.
