Colts RB Zack Moss Suffers Broken Arm in Practice, per Report

Colts running back Zack Moss broke his arm in practice on Monday and is expected to miss around six weeks, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports. It is unclear whether Moss will be ready to return for Week 1 or if he will be back a few weeks into the season.

Moss had been serving as Indianapolis’ starting running back as the team and Jonathan Taylor remain far apart on contract extension negotiations. Taylor recently requested a trade from the Colts, while Indianapolis has considered placing him on the Non-Football Injury list while he is not in training camp.

Last season, the Colts acquired Moss midseason from the Bills in exchange for Nyheim Hines, and the running back ran for 365 yards and a touchdown in eight games for the team. The 25-year-old has now been in the league for three seasons, and has totaled 1,282 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in his career.

With Moss hurt and Taylor away from the team, Deon Jackson likely becomes the top running back on the depth chart, with Evan Hull right behind him.
