The Indianapolis Colts signed wide receiver D.J. Montgomery from the practice squad to the active roster, the team announced Thursday.
Montgomery used his three standard elevations from the practice squad. If the Colts wanted him to be active on gamedays, they would need to sign him to the roster. This also gives the team a No. 5 wide receiver after Juwann Winfree was waived.
In a corresponding move, guard Arlington Hambrught was waived. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Hambright made his way back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
