Colts’ player of the game vs. Texans: RB Jonathan Taylor

After a roller coaster of an afternoon, the Indianapolis Colts walk away with a tie in a frustrating battle with the Houston Texans to open the season.

Whether it was poor play-calling, stupid mistakes, or turnovers, Frank Reich’s squad managed to shoot themselves in the foot any chance they got.

One bright spot from this game was the Colts’ All-Pro running back, Jonathan Taylor, who had himself another impressive performance.

The third-year stud finished with 162 yards a key touchdown in the fourth quarter that kept Indy in the game. He was also more involved in the passing game today, hauling in 4 catches for 14 yards.

It’s obvious the Colts are a ways away from being the contenders many thought they would be heading into this season. One thing is for sure though, as long as Jonathan Taylor is in the backfield, this team will always be able to hang around in tight games.

Frank Reich and company will have to fix some of the glaring mistakes quickly as the Colts head to Jacksonville next weekend.
