Colts’ Parris Campbell held out with tight hamstring

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell was held out of training camp practice Monday due to hamstring tightness.

Campbell has been one of the stars during Colts training camp and has solidified his role as the No. 2 wide receiver opposite Michael Pittman Jr. through the first two weeks.

On the surface, the injury doesn’t appear serious, and the team held him out of practice as a precaution.

However, that notion likely won’t mean anything to Colts fans and anyone paying attention to Campbell’s career arc thus far. The talent has always been there, but the former second-round pick has appeared in 15 games across three seasons due to several injuries.

In fairness to Campbell, those injuries have seemingly been freak occurrences that required procedures. Though he gets the injury-prone label often, soft-tissue injuries haven’t occurred with him many times throughout his career.

Campbell figures to be a potent part of the passing attack when healthy, and the Colts will be back on the field Wednesday for another practice. This development will certainly be something to watch.
