Colts open as massive road underdogs to Cowboys in Week 13

The Indianapolis Colts (4-7-1) will be on the road for a Week 13 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys (8-3) for a Sunday night bout just before the bye.

While the Colts are trending toward securing a top-10 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the Cowboys have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL. This is especially true since the return of quarterback Dak Prescott in Week 7.

To no one’s surprise, the Colts will open as the biggest underdogs of the week against the Cowboys, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

Dallas Cowboys (8-3) -10.5 -600 U 43.5

While there is some glimmer of hope that the Colts defense will keep the team in the game long enough to compete, much of the optimism is dashed when realizing the Cowboys are arguably the most complete team in the NFL.

Since Prescott’s return in Week 7 from a thumb injury, the Cowboys rank ninth in offensive DVOA and third in defensive DVOA, according to Football Outsiders. They are averaging 33.8 points per game and have a +80-point differential during that span.

Led by Defensive Player of the Year candidate Micah Parsons, the Cowboys defense is arguably the best in the NFL. His 12.0 sacks are the second-most in the NFL while ranking in the top-five in forced fumbles, quarterback hits and tackles for loss.

The Colts offensive line, meanwhile, continues to be a revolving door of pressure as their 43 sacks allowed lead the NFL.

This one could get ugly considering how poorly the offense has played, and it should be no surprise the Colts are the biggest underdogs of the week.
