Colts make CB addition to practice squad and multiple other moves

The Indianapolis Colts have made a cornerback addition to the practice squad along with two other moves that have resulted in three corresponding cuts.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Colts announced that they signed cornerback Tre Flowers to the practice squad, restored quarterback Jason Bean to the practice squad after he missed time with an injury, and also brought back running back Evan Hull.

In order to make room for these three additions, Indianapolis released defensive tackle Josiah Bronson, receiver Ethan Fernea, and cornerback Kelvin Joseph.

Flowers, a former fifth-round pick in 2018 by Seattle, is an experienced player having appeared in 94 games. Most recently, he spent some time with Jacksonville this season and was with Atlanta in 2023, where he played 200 defensive snaps.

In that 2023 season, Flowers allowed 10 receptions on 14 targets at 17.7 yards per catch with one pass breakup. For his career, he’s given up a completion rate of 68 percent, allowed 13.0 yards per catch, with four interceptions,16 pass breakups, and a passer rating of 106.9 when targeted.

Bean, meanwhile, was placed on the practice squad injured list back on September 24th with an ankle injury.

The Colts signed Bean following April’s draft as an undrafted rookie who finished his college career at Kansas. During his final collegiate season, Bean threw 18 touchdowns, completed 62 percent of his passes, and averaged an impressive 10.7 yards per pass.

Hull was released from the 53-man roster on Saturday with Jonathan Taylor back healthy. He was on the practice squad previously before being signed to the active roster prior to the Tennessee game.

Hull played one offensive snap in Week 7 against Miami. A fifth-round pick in 2023, Hull missed just about all of his rookie year with a knee injury. He came to the NFL as a very experienced pass-catcher out of the backfield.

The Colts’ practice squad is currently at full capacity following this series of moves.
