Indianapolis Colts cornerback Julius Brents and tight end Drew Ogletree will not travel to Germany with the team and have been ruled out for the Week 10 matchup against the New England Patriots due to injuries, the team announced Thursday.
This is typical for players who don’t have a realistic shot of playing due to their injuries. Teams traveling overseas will leave those players back in the States while those who have a chance to play will make the trip.
Brents will miss his third consecutive game due to a quadriceps injury he suffered in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. It was expected that this would be a multi-week injury and with the bye coming in Week 11, the Colts aren’t taking any chances.
Ogletree will miss this game after sustaining a foot injury during the Week 9 win over the Carolina Panthers. He didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday so it’s no surprise the Colts are holding him out of the Germany game.
It should be noted that wide receiver Josh Downs also has yet to log a practice this week due to a knee injury. However, the team believes he has a chance to play considering he was not ruled out.
The Colts will release their final injury report with game designations Friday after departing for Germany on Thursday night.
