Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was seen wearing a boot on his right ankle as the team conducted another walkthrough practice Tuesday, preparing for the Thursday night matchup against the Denver Broncos in Week 5.
It’s going to be difficult for Taylor to make the turnaround on a short week even if he reportedly still has a chance to play. Though the Colts have conducted walkthroughs for the last two practices, Taylor has been estimated as a non-particpant.
Head coach Frank Reich told the media Tuesday that Taylor is still a game-time decision.
“Still unknown at this point. We have a plan if he does play. We’ll be ready for that obviously. Hope he can play but still no status yet,” Reich said.

Taylor said he plans to play but also is willing to listen to his body.
“I definitely do plan to play, but if you can’t go you can’t go. That’s why you have to get as much treatment as you can in,” Taylor told reporters Tuesday.
Given the short week and the injuries the Colts are already dealing with at other positions, they are looking for any advantage they can get. Even if that means giving a glimmer of hope that Taylor can play to make the Broncos prepare a little bit for the star back.
The Colts will release their final injury report Wednesday, included with designations, so we’ll see if there’s a change to his status.
