Colts’ Jonathan Taylor Says He Got Called for Drug Test After First TD of Season

Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was thrilled to register his first touchdown in 329 days, despite his team’s 39-38 home loss to the Browns on Sunday afternoon.

Taylor found the end zone on a 5-yard run that capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive during the third quarter. However, hours after Taylor logged his first score, the 24-year-old posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the league subsequently mandated he take a drug test.

“Drug tested soon as I get back in the end zone 😂,” Taylor tweeted.

Taylor finished the game with a season-high 75 yards on 18 carries while also catching three passes for 45 yards. Taylor appears to be getting back to his old self after missing the first four games of the season.

Throughout the offseason, Taylor was embroiled in a contract dispute that led to the Colts’ star running back to seek a trade in July. He ultimately agreed to a three-year $42 million contract extension to remain with the Colts early this month.

Taylor has rushed for 112 yards on 32 carries, while averaging 3.5 yards per carry, in three games this season.

The Colts (3-4) play host to the Saints (3-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
