The Indianapolis Colts are hosting former Baylor cornerback Kalon Barnes for a visit ahead of the 2022 NFL draft, according to his Instagram story.
Barnes posted a picture of the team’s indoor facility so it’s likely he is there for a top-30 visit.
Baylor CB Kalon Barnes looks to be in Indy today. Would assume for a Top-30 visit.

Barnes, a senior out of Baylor, measured in at 5-foot-11 and 183 pounds at the NFL combine. He made some history by posting a 4.23 in the 40-yard dash at the combine.
Barnes is likely a Day 3 pick entering the draft. His ridiculous track speed is his best trait but some draft analysts believe his game needs more refinement when it comes to technique and attacking leverage.
Here’s what Dane Brugler of The Athletic had to say about Barnes in his draft guide:
Overall, Barnes is speed-reliant and needs to improve his technique and feel down the field, but his special athletic traits give him a fighting chance at an NFL career, especially if he learns to play inside corner.
The Colts have a need at the cornerback position after trading away Rock Ya-Sin for defensive end Yannick Nagkoue earlier this offseason. They have serious interest in veteran Stephon Gilmore, but a team can never have too many cornerbacks.
It will be interesting to see if the Colts wind up using a Day 3 pick on Barnes, whose speed could unlock his high upside with the right development.
