The Atlanta Falcons must move quarterback Matt Ryan by 4:00 p.m. Monday to avoid paying his $7.5 million roster bonus.
Now less than three hours from that deadline, the Indianapolis Colts are emerging as a likely landing spot, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting.
From NFL Now: The #Colts have emerged as the likely landing spot for #Falcons QB Matt Ryan, and the two sides are in talks. If Ryan is traded, it’ll almost certainly be Indy. But nothing is done as of now. pic.twitter.com/TJqqG25Z2x

Not long ago, it appeared Ryan was a lock to return to the Falcons in 2022, but the team’s aggressive pursuit of quarterback Deshaun Watson threw a wrench in things.
Watson ended up going to the Browns, leaving Atlanta with egg on its face. Ryan could still return, but it sounds like both sides are looking to move on. The Colts would make sense as a potential landing spot since the Falcons aren’t nearly as close to contending next season.
