The Senior Bowl is an invitation only, All-Star college football showcase held each year in Mobile, Alabama.
Here, top prospects are able to display their talents throughout the week against high-level competition, in drills, on the practice field, and then the week concludes with a game between the American and National teams.
The event attracts general managers, coaches, and scouts from across the league, and in addition to the on-field portion of the week, NFL teams also get the opportunity to meet with prospects as well.
For Raich, as the defensive coordinator for one of the squads, he will have an up close look at half the defensive roster attending the All-Star event.
That side of the ball is going to be a big need for the Colts this offseason. GM Chris Ballard mentioned in his end of season press conference that they have to get better in the secondary, while I imagine linebacker and defensive tackle depth are also on Indianapolis’ radar as well.
Some recent draft picks by the Colts who played in the Senior Bowl include Laiatu Latu, Tanor Bortolini, JuJu Brents, Blake Freeland, Alec Pierce, Bernhard Raimann, and a number of others.
From 2023-2017, there were 26 Senior Bowl participants who were draft by Indianapolis.
This year’s Senior Bowl game will be played on Saturday, February 1st.
