The move comes with the Titans currently sitting at 1-5 on the season, while the Chiefs are 6-0, but in need of help at the wide receiver position.
The 2024 season was Hopkins’ second with the Titans. Last year, he was targeted 133 times, catching 75 of those passes for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns.
This season, Hopkins has caught 15-of-21 targets for 175 yards with one score. Against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4, Hopkins caught four passes for 54 yards.
The next time the Colts face the Titans will be in Week 16 and in Indianapolis. At receiver, Tennessee does still have Calvin Ridley, who was signed as a free agent this offseason to a four-year, $92 million deal.
At this time, neither the Titans nor Chiefs have announced that the trade is official. There also hasn’t been any reporting around what Tennessee might get in return in terms of draft compensation from Kansas City.
Hopkins is a former first round selection by the Houston Texans in the 2013 NFL draft. For his career, he’s totaled nearly 13,000 receiving yards with 80 touchdowns, playing for Houston, Arizona, and Tennessee.
