Colts’ division rival Titans find new general manager

The Indianapolis Colts AFC South rival, the Tennessee Titans, had been on the search the last few weeks for their next general manager, and have now filled that role.

It was reported on Friday that the Titans have hired long-time Kansas City Chiefs’ executive Mike Borgonzi to be team’s next general manager.

Borgonzi signed a five-year deal that ties him to the Titans through the 2029 season.

Colts’ assistant general manager Ed Dodds was among the candidates for this job who were brought back for a second round of interviews.

Borgonzi has been the Chiefs’ assistant general manager since 2021. He got his start with the organization back in 2009 as an assistant recruiting coordinator and worked his way up, holding various scouting and personnel related roles along the way.

Although Tennessee moved on from now former general manager Ran Carthon after two seasons, the team retained head coach Brian Callahan. The 2024 season was his first in Tennessee.

The Titans finished the 2023 season 3-14 and hold the No. 1 overall pick in this April’s draft. In total they have eight selections, and according to Over the Cap, Tennessee has $44.19 million in cap space, which ranks as the 12th-most this offseason.
