Colts C Ryan Kelly available for trade, could be released

The Arizona Cardinals are looking for a new starting center with Rodney Hudson expected to retire this offseason. They could find that player the way they did when they acquired Hudson in 2021.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly is available via trade and could be released.

The former first-round pick will be 30 years old this coming season. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three consecutive seasons from 2019-2021. He played in every game last season.

He has two years remaining on his current contract, which will pay him a $1 million roster bonus on the fifth day of the league year then $9.125 million in salary. In 2024, he is due another $1 million roster bonus and is scheduled to earn $11.375 million.

The Cardinals acquired Hudson in 2021 when he became available for trade and was about to be released. They traded a third-round pick to the Raiders to acquire him and signed him to a three-year contract. He was entering the final year of his deal with the Raiders.

Kellly would know Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, as Gannon was the Colts’ defensive backs coach from 2018-2020.

Could the Cardinals pull the trigger on a deal for a three-time Pro Bowl center?

He could be a name to watch in the next few days.
