Colts add to defensive line in ESPN’s latest 2025 NFL mock draft

In a recent mock draft from Field Yates of ESPN, the Indianapolis Colts bolster their defensive line by taking Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon at 14th overall.

Yates notes how the Colts’ run game has struggled, allowing 4.6 yards per rush this season and the second-most rushing yards per game.

Yates also adds that beginning to find a “long-term replacement” for DeForest Buckner should be on the Colts’ radar as well. Buckner did sign an extension earlier this offseason, but that only runs through the 2026 season.

Harmon is listed at 6-5 – 310 pounds and has played over 1,500 career snaps. After spending his first three seasons at Michigan State, the 2024 season was his first with Oregon.

This season specifically, Harmon has recorded 50 pressures, including five sacks, according to PFF. Those 50 pressures are the most in college football among defensive tackles, while Harmon also ranks second in pass-rush win rate.

Against the run, Harmon ranks 64th in PFF’s run defense grade, for what it’s worth.

“Harmon is a long, disruptive, powerful and high-effort player who would provide a spark there, as well as with the pass rush from the inside,” wrote Yates.

While the combination of Buckner and Grover Stewart form a very good duo in the middle, the depth of the Colts’ defensive tackle position is lacking.

Taven Bryan will be a free agent in 2025, Raekwon Davis is playing about one-third of the snaps with a so-so impact and the Colts can get out of his contract in 2025 if needed, while Adetomiwa Adebawore isn’t seeing hardly any playing time.

Tight end, linebacker, and safety are a few other positions that we’ve seen the Colts address in other 2025 NFL mock drafts.
