With the Reese’s Senior Bowl taking place on February 1st, let’s take a position-by-position look at who will be participating in the week-long event and could be of interest to the Indianapolis Colts.
Next up are the tight ends, but if you missed any of our other previews up to this point, you can find them below:
Quarterbacks

Running backs
The tight end position is one of the big needs that the Colts have to address this offseason, and many mock drafts have the team doing so in the first round with Penn State’s Tyler Warren.
As GM Chris Ballard said during his season-ending press conference–and as we all saw throughout the season watching games–the Colts need a much greater pass catching presence at the tight end position.
In 2024, their entire tight end room combined for 467 receiving yards. Compared to the rest of the NFL, there were 25 individual tight ends–not units–who had more receiving yards than the Colts entire position group did.
Adding a pass catching presence to the offense at this position would give defenses a new element to have to defend, which could also help open up opportunities for others within the offense as well.
And while the emphasis is often going to be on the receiving component of the position, having a tight end with a well-rounded skill set who can hold his own in the run game adds versatility to an offense and a layer of unpredictability with all the hats that player can wear.
Given that need just described, along with Mo Alie-Cox and Kylen Granson set to be free agents, between the draft and free agency, multiple additions will have to be made at this position.
Here are the tight end prospects to keep your eyes on at this week’s Senior Bowl, which can be a great place for players to boost their draft stock.
CJ Dippre, Alabama
Harold Fannin Jr., Bowling Green
Jake Briningstool, Clemson
Mason Taylor, LSU
Thomas Fidone II, Nebraska
Terrance Ferguson, Oregon
Gavin Bartholomew, Pitt
Gunnar Helm, Texas
Jackson Hawes, Georgia Tech
Elijah Arroyo, Miami
Moliki Matavao, UCLA
The Senior Bowl is an invitation only, All-Star college football showcase held each year in Mobile, Alabama.
Here, top prospects are able to display their talents throughout the week against high-level competition, in drills, on the practice field, and then the week concludes with a game between the American and National teams.
The event attracts general managers, coaches, and scouts from across the league, and in addition to the on-field portion of the week, NFL teams also get the opportunity to meet with prospects as well.
