Colts 2025 NFL draft: Ball-hawking CB standing out at Senior Bowl

Cornerback is very much a need for the Indianapolis Colts this offseason and one name to watch coming out of the Senior Bowl is Louisville’s Quincy Riley.

Eric Edholm of NFL.com put together his four takeaways from Day 2 of Senior Bowl practices, and within the article, he mentioned that Riley has been “one of the more consistent” defensive backs on the field this week.

Measuring in at just over 5-10 and weighing 193 pounds, Riley is an experienced player with over 2,700 college snaps between his time at Middle Tennessee State and Louisville.

Throughout his career, Riley has had terrific ball production, totaling 15 interceptions and 40 pass breakups.

During the most recent 2024 season, Riley allowed a completion rate of just 48.5%, 14.1 yards per catch, and quarterbacks had a passer rating of 73.5 when targeting him.

For a bit more on Riley’s game, here is a snippet of what The Draft Network had to say:

“Riley is an impressive instinctual corner and might be more comfortable with the ball in the air than before the pass. He’s a good athlete and shows smooth footwork to mirror receivers in their releases to maintain that hold on the route.”

As GM Chris Ballard said about the Colts’ secondary play: “we’ve got to get better.”

The Colts finished the 2024 season ranking in the bottom 10 of the NFL in yards per pass attempt allowed, pass deflections, and completion rate.

Since 2017, Ballard’s first year as general manager, the Colts have drafted 29 players who participated in the Senior Bowl.
