Colorado wins wild game after Shedeur Sanders’ Hail Mary forces overtime

The Colorado Buffaloes grasped victory from defeat in a Big 12 game against Baylor.

After a Shedeur Sanders Hail Mary on the last play of regulation led to a tie game, the Buffaloes scored in overtime and downed the Bears in a wild game, 38-31.

The Buffs scored first in overtime. Baylor looked like it was going in for the tying touchdown but Dominic Richardson fumbled as he was crossing the goal like. The tackle was by two-way star Travis Hunter.

The student body rushed the field in celebrations as officials blew their whistles to try and clear the field because the play was under review. Eventually, it was ruled a fumble and the ball went out of the back of the end zone and Colorado was 3-1 with a victory in the Big 12.

As the end of regulation approached, Colorado appeared to be out of luck when a receiver dropped Sanders’ pass that would have been a touchdown.

Down to one play at Folsom Field, Sanders unloaded again as time ran out. LaJohntay Webster was in the end zone and he answered Colorado’s prayer with a diving touchdown catch.

The score and ensuing PAT tied the game and sent it to OT tied at 31.

The 43-yard play came after FOX Sports foreshadowed it by showing the Michigan miracle for Colorado from Kordell Stewart to Michael Westbrook 30 years ago in 1994.

Hunter forced the lone turnover of the game to cap another magnificent performance.
