Colorado Unveils Deion Sanders-Inspired Class for Next Semester

As the Spring 2024 semester approaches, it's officially Prime Time at Colorado

Technically, it already was, as Pro Football Hall of Famer and Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders took the sports world by storm and put the football program, which had won just one game in 2022, back on the map in his first season pacing the sidelines.

But Sanders's impact has stretched far beyond the football field. The university unveiled a new elective course for the upcoming semester, one that is named after Sanders. A journalism student posted details about the course onto his account on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The course, titled 'Prime Time: Public Performance and Leadership,' can only be taken by students with majors and minors in the College of Media, Communication and Information who have 45 credit hours or more or have passed the prerequisite course, according to the school's website.

The course will help college athletes explore how to manage their time and celebrity, advocate for worthy causes, and interact with the media.

Sanders's mere box-office presence will help plenty of Buffaloes football players attract attention. But this course seems like a very practical way to show college athletes how to navigate the ever-changing NCAA landscape in the NIL era.
