A resounding season-opening win over top-ranked, defending champion LSU gave No. 20 Colorado plenty to brag about on Monday night after a stunning result in Las Vegas.
The Buffaloes pounced on the Tigers with physical play en route to earning a 92–78 victory in the Hall of Fame Series, firmly dismantling a star-studded national title favorite led by star Angel Reese and star transfers Hailey Van Lith and Aneesah Morrow.
As if the outcome wasn’t tough enough for LSU, the CU women’s basketball social media team made sure to rub it in with a brutal “LS-Who? #GeauxBuffs” troll on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the lopsided contest. Ouch:

On a night where they led by as much as 22 points, the Buffaloes’ dominant showing saw the Tigers’ Big 3 combine for 35 points on 12-of-35 shooting. Meanwhile, guard Frida Formann and forward Aaronette Vonleh anchored the way for CU, logging 27 and 24 points, respectively.
With Monday’s stunner in the books, it may take some time for LSU to stop hearing jokes similar to CU’s jabs over the next week, especially with Kim Mulkey’s squad being the first No. 1 team and defending champion to lose its opener since the 1995–96 season.
