Before turning in an explosive debut game for Colorado, two-way standout Travis Hunter already appeared to have an idea in mind of where he hopes to land as a potential future NFL draft pick.
Hunter, who dazzled fans in CU’s season-opening win on Saturday, cast his pick for which NFL team he’d like to play for on the first episode of his weekly BleacherReport talk show, 12 Talks, prior to Week 1. And, while Hunter admitted his favorite team is the 49ers, the cornerback/receiver went a different route with his answer.
“If I had a say, I like staying in Colorado,” Hunter said, suggesting he’d be fine with landing with the Broncos on draft day in the not-too-distant future.
Interestingly, Hunter’s take didn’t stop there, as the 20-year-old also commented, in a less enthusiastic fashion, about the possibility of playing for a team he said he’s been linked to: the rebuilding Packers.
“Everybody I talk to, says I’m going to Green Bay, I don’t know why,” he continued. “But Green Bay is cold. I don’t got a problem with the cold. Why I gotta go to Green Bay?”

While Hunter’s opinion of the Packers sounded as cold as Lambeau in December, the star sophomore will certainly have the attention of every NFL scout as he continues building on his electric first FBS game.
After transferring from Jackson State to join former JSU coach Deion Sanders in Colorado, Hunter looked the part of a potential future top prospect on Saturday. Against No. 17 TCU, Hunter went off for 11 catches for 119 yards, and logged one interception, three tackles, and a pass deflection in a memorable 45–42 road win.
