Deion Sanders’s mantra of “It’s Personal” has taken hold of his Colorado football team this season.
It’s not just a mantra for Sanders. It’s become a rallying cry for the entire Buffaloes team, allowing it to play with an “Us Against The World” mentality against stiff competition in the face of a rebuild.
Colorado is 3-1 on the season after a humbling defeat at the hands of Oregon at Autzen Stadium on Saturday. A video circulated afterward showing Colorado players scraping their cleats on the Oregon “O” logo at midfield prior to the game. Then on Monday, the Ducks released footage of Colorado players talking trash before Saturday’s matchup.
Among those doing the talking was one of Sanders’s sons, Shilo, who was caught on video saying, “I’ll beat the f— out of every one of y’all and your coach. Why y’all so little? We finna run through y’all a--.”

Unfortunately for Colorado, the Ducks blew out the Buffaloes, who were playing without two-way star Travis Hunter, 42–6.
Shilo Sanders had a busy game, recording seven total tackles—six of which were solo. However, Sanders was taken to a hospital for treatment after the game because he was urinating blood, he told older brother Deion Sanders Jr.
Although it’s unclear whether Oregon players took Sanders’s pregame trash talk personally, it’s clear he took at least one severe hit during the game based on his subsequent symptom. It is uncertain whether he will be ready to play this Saturday when the Buffs play host to No. 8 USC at noon ET.
Meantime, although Hunter wants to return to action, Deion Sanders has said he won’t play the standout cornerback/wide receiver against the Trojans out of caution for the player’s long-term health.
