Mount Rushmore is one of the most popular American monuments, but it isn’t located in a highly-populated part of the country. That can be deceiving to some people, even one of the most famous personalities in all of sports.
At a Colorado press conference on Tuesday, Deion Sanders answered a question by referencing Mount Rushmore. In the process, he revealed that he thought the monument was in Los Angeles.
“What’s those little foreheads in California? What do they call those?” Sanders asked the media.
Once the members of the media corrected him, Sanders laughed at the mistake and admitted that he mixed up Mount Rushmore with the Hollywood sign.
“I thought it was in LA all this time,” he said. “That’s the Hollywood [sign] then? Alright, that’s what I thought, I’m sorry. Thank you for educating me.”

Everyone has their blind spots, even someone as famous as Sanders, but it is still amazing that, for the first 56 years of his life, the Buffaloes coach thought Mount Rushmore was in California and not South Dakota.
