Colorado officials have decided to drop charges against the landlord of an Aurora apartment complex that was embroiled in a violent Venezuelan gang controversy. The city has agreed to dismiss numerous charges related to the landlord's alleged failure to maintain the property after he committed to either selling or leasing the property and allocating up to $60,000 for its cleanup.
The charges in question are linked to a property where members of the Trende Aragua gang were captured on surveillance footage forcibly entering units with firearms. The landlord has attributed the deteriorating living conditions at his properties to the gang's activities.
